I'm Jeffery, a UI/UX designer who thinks like an engineer.
I've been designing for six years and have worked with around 40 clients, from trading platforms and crypto exchanges to NGOs, consumer brands and events. I'm also the founder and Creative Director of Jeko Design Studio.

Computers first, then design
Computers were always my thing. As digital work became my interest, I fell in love with bringing ideas to life with colour, graphic elements and images. In 2020 I took my first design course, and it's been uphill from there.
The same technical streak took me to Nnamdi Azikiwe University to study Electronics and Computer Engineering. After graduating, I was inducted into the engineering profession by COREN, the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria.
The two sides don't compete. Engineering taught me to break a problem into parts and understand how a system actually works before changing it. Design is how I make the answer clear to the people using it. That's why so much of my work sits where trust and clarity matter most: trading platforms, payment products, dashboards, and the brands around them.

Inducted by COREN after graduating
Six years, in order
Took my first design course and started turning ideas into visuals.
Went deeper into interface and product design: user flows, wireframes and prototyping.
Launched the studio in October, offering branding, UI/UX and software development, and designed the 24-page Pivot Trades website that December.
Graduated from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, then was inducted into the profession by COREN.
Jeko is running again, and I'm open to full-time UI/UX roles as well as freelance projects.
No mystery, six steps
Before anything visual, I need to know what you sell, who it's for, and what success looks like. If I can't explain your project back to you in one sentence, I'm not ready to design it.
Competitors, existing products and the people who'll use yours. I look at what everyone in the space does, so we choose on purpose where to follow and where to stand apart.
User flows, sitemaps and wireframes come first. A confusing journey is far cheaper to fix in grey boxes than in finished screens.
Colour, type and components are defined once and reused, so the last page looks like it belongs with the first.
You see work before it's polished. Feedback comes in agreed rounds, and I explain the reasoning behind each decision, not just the pictures.
Organised files, developer-ready specs and guidelines, so what gets built matches what was designed. I stay reachable after handover.

I also run a studio
I founded Jeko Design Studio in 2024 to bring branding and strategy, UI/UX and software development under one roof, and I lead it as Creative Director. That means I've sat on both sides of the table: doing the design work, and being the person responsible for the client, the timeline and the result.
What keeps me sharp

The gym
I train to stay physically healthy, and it keeps my mind sharp enough for the creativity to flow.

Reading
I'm interested in psychology and philosophy, and I read a lot, especially self-development books. Understanding how people think makes me better at designing for them.
